Crimson Desert-oppdateringen gir mer lagringsplass, endringer i bossene og tre vanskelighetsgrader

Pearl Abyss has rolled out version 1.04.00 of Crimson Desert across Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store. The latest update covers three difficulty tiers, boss behavior changes, new storage furniture, additional pets, expanded skills for two characters, and a new set of control options. The Mac App Store version is still in progress.

The official patch notes confirm three difficulty settings now live in Settings > Play. Easy mode reduces damage taken, lowers enemy health, speed, and aggressiveness, and widens the timing windows for parry and dodge. Bosses counterattack and break away less frequently when hit. Hard mode reverses those adjustments and layers additional restrictions on top: food items no longer restore health on use — the effect only kicks in once the eating animation completes. Roll invincibility is shortened, damage taken increases, and bosses counterattack more aggressively when staggered. Select bosses on Hard also run additional combat patterns.

Pearl Abyss released hotfix 1.04.02 for Crimson Desert one day after version 1.04.00, fixing bugs introduced by that update — including a wrong difficulty setting applied on new saves, pet renaming affecting non-pet trust notifications, HDR key input failures, multiple UI display issues, and horse gear that couldn't be dyed.

Boss behavior changes apply across all difficulty settings. Bosses are no longer immune to damage during powerful attacks — previously a protected window — and the rate at which they counterattack or evade during consecutive hits has been rebalanced. Attack patterns for certain bosses were adjusted as well. A boss rematch feature is listed as coming soon.

Four storage items were added this patch. The Sturdy Gatherables Chest holds 1,000 slots and is available from furniture shops; materials stored there feed directly into crafting and refinement without sitting in the player's inventory. The Kuku Cooler — a quest reward — holds 40 food slots usable for remote cooking, and the craftable Enhanced Kuku Cooler extends that to 330. The Collectibles Chest, also quest-obtained, covers 1,000 slots for quest items and crafting recipes. The Wardrobe handles outfit storage, with each placed unit adding 100 slots and a hard cap of 1,000 across however many are placed.

Crimson Desert Update Brings More Storage, Boss Changes, and Three Difficulty Settings 1

Birds are now available as pets throughout Pywel, earned by placing food on the Sotdae of Bond item — itself a quest reward — to build Trust. Five new cat types were added. The Abyss Heuklang can now become a pet. Both horses and pets can now be renamed. Pets received an accessory slot. The Sigil of Bonding lets cats stay on the player's shoulder for longer, a purpose-built item replacing what had previously been unintended behavior. I think that's the right call — the bug warranted a fix, but shipping a deliberate item keeps the option available rather than just removing it.

Damiane and Oongka both receive the new Ambush skill, plus a skill that mirrors Kliff's Focused Force Palm. Kliff gains Weapon Throw during dual wield, retrievable on approach or via the same input. Oongka's blaster can now fire during Flight, and Scatter Shot was fixed to prevent use without bullets while in Back Hang. Kliff's Force Palm attack speed was improved, and Force Current no longer pushes Kliff off ledges.

Control presets are now live for both keyboard/mouse and controller, with the original layout preserved as Classic Preset. A new immediate interaction option fires on keypress, switching to a hold prompt only when overlapping interactables are detected. Evasion Control adds a hold alternative to the original double-tap. Vault now requires pressing Jump mid-attack rather than its previous input. On controller, the map opens by holding the DualSense touchpad or the Xbox View button, and Dismount/Drop and Cancel have been merged into a single button.

I see the inventory category tabs as one of the more practically useful additions in this patch: six tabs — All, Documents, Equipment, Food, Materials, and Others — with per-category sort settings that persist across restarts.
