Minecraft avslører gyllen løvetann og nye baby-mobber før neste spillutgivelse
Mojang has shared new details about Minecraft’s upcoming game drop, unveiling the Golden Dandelion, a brand-new item designed for fans of baby mobs. Alongside this reveal, the developer confirmed that several new baby animal variants are on the way. Many of these additions are already available for testing through Java snapshots and Bedrock beta/preview versions.
Baby Mobs Take Center Stage in the Next Update
At the start of 2026, Mojang has moved quickly to showcase new content for Minecraft. While the official name of the next game drop has not yet been announced, its main theme has been confirmed: baby animal mobs. Although many creatures already have baby forms, the upcoming update significantly enhances their designs.
Animals such as wolf pups, kittens, baby chickens, and others have received complete visual overhauls, making them clearly distinct from their adult counterparts. These redesigned baby mobs have been warmly received by the community, with many players expressing interest in keeping their favorite creatures permanently small.
Golden Dandelion Allows Baby Mobs to Stay Young
To address this request, Mojang introduced the Golden Dandelion, a consumable item that prevents baby mobs from aging. Feeding the flower to a baby mob will stop its growth, allowing it to remain in its baby form indefinitely.
The crafting recipe for the Golden Dandelion becomes available after breeding mobs for the first time. Once unlocked, the item can be crafted using one regular dandelion and eight gold ingots. If players later decide to let a mob grow into its adult form, feeding it another Golden Dandelion will reverse the effect.
Currently, the Golden Dandelion is available for testing in Java snapshots, with Mojang confirming that Bedrock support will be added in the near future.
New Aquatic Baby Mobs Confirmed
In addition to the Golden Dandelion, Mojang revealed several new aquatic baby mobs planned for the next game drop, including:
- Baby axolotls
- Baby squids
- Baby glow squids
- Baby dolphins
- Baby turtles
Baby axolotls will feature five different color variants, giving players more collection options. Baby turtles stand out as some of the smallest baby mobs in the game, with developers noting their fondness for seagrass.
All of these new baby mob variants can already be tested in Java snapshot and Bedrock beta/preview builds.
More Features on the Way
With these additions, Minecraft’s next game drop is shaping up to be a major update for mob enthusiasts. Between the expanded selection of baby mobs, the introduction of the Golden Dandelion, and other features such as craftable name tags, there will be plenty of new content to explore. Mojang has also encouraged players to test these features and share feedback to help refine the update before its official release.
While the release date remains unconfirmed, Minecraft rolled out four major updates in 2025. If a similar update schedule continues in 2026, the baby mob–focused game drop could arrive within the next few months.
