Minecraft LIVE september 2025 bringer Copper Age, Mounts of Mayhem og en Dragon Ball Z-crossover

Minecraft LIVE returned this September with a showcase full of announcements for the game’s 16th year, revealing new updates and collaborations that will roll out over the coming months. Mojang Studios highlighted two major updates, Marketplace expansions, and a crossover with one of the most iconic anime series.

The first announcement of the event was The Copper Age update, arriving September 30. This update dramatically expands the functionality of copper within Minecraft, turning the material into a core crafting resource rather than just a decorative block. Players will be able to forge copper tools, weapons, and armour, all sitting in strength between stone and iron.

Horses are also receiving full copper armour sets, which place the metal alongside existing equipment tiers. One of the biggest new additions in The Copper Age is the Copper Golem. Built with copper and carved pumpkins, this helpful mob can sort items in Copper Chests and distribute them into surrounding storage. Over time, the golem oxidizes into a statue, locking into one of four unique poses. By scraping it with an axe, players can restore its functionality, while the statues themselves also interact with redstone, emitting signals depending on the pose.

The Copper Age will also introduce shelves for inventory management, oxidizing lightning rods, and a set of copper lanterns, torches, chains, and bars for builders. Dye art icons are being redesigned for accessibility, and even Iron Golems will interact with Copper Golems, handing them flowers to wear.

Looking ahead, Mojang previewed the Mounts of Mayhem update, scheduled for Holiday 2025. This fourth major update will introduce a new weapon and a range of mounts for combat and exploration. Players can wield a spear, a weapon designed for both melee and mounted combat, with damage scaling to the speed of its wielder.

For underwater travel, the Nautilus mount offers faster movement and sustained oxygen. It can be tamed with pufferfish, though hostile versions also appear in the form of the Zombie Nautilus, often ridden by Drowned wielding tridents. These mounts can be equipped with armour found in chests, supporting copper through netherite variants. A long-requested mob, the Zombie Horse, will finally join Survival Mode after years of being Creative-exclusive, appearing at night and sometimes carrying spear-wielding zombies.

In addition to core updates, Mojang showcased new Marketplace content with the Friendly Fishing add-on. Developed in collaboration with Conservation International, this content encourages players to catalog new species, explore fishing structures, and face encounters with pollution. To support the project, Microsoft will donate all net proceeds from the add-on over the next three months, alongside an additional $100,000, to the nonprofit’s environmental conservation work.

The showcase closed with a tease of a Dragon Ball Z DLC, arriving later this year. To mark the announcement, Bedrock Edition players can already claim a free Super Saiyan Hair cosmetic from the Marketplace, available until November 4, 2025.

Minecraft LIVE September 2025 is packed with a range of updates that reinforce how the game continues to evolve while celebrating its community and cultural reach. From the expanded crafting and automation of The Copper Age to combat-focused mounts and anime collaborations, Mojang is preparing another round of content that stretches across creative, survival, and crossover play.
