Among Us is collaborating with some of the most well-known indie games ever released

During the early pandemic lockdowns, many people occupied themselves with various activities: learning to play guitar, creating sourdough starters, diligently disinfecting groceries. Among the popular pastimes during that time was playing Among Us, where players had to identify killers in space. If you've put this game on hold for a while, you might be interested to know that there's still plenty of activity around it - recently, there was an announcement of a collaboration with major indie games.

This week, Innersloth released a new Cosmicube featuring cosmetic items from games like Celeste, Undertale, Crypt of the Necrodancer, Untitled Goose Game, A Hat in Time, Castle Crashers, and Alien Hominid.

For those unfamiliar, the Cosmicube is Among Us's version of a battle pass. Once you purchase the cube using in-game currency, you can unlock cosmetic items by spending another currency earned within the game (all details are explained here).

The Indie Cosmicube can be purchased with in-game currency until February 28, 2024, and after purchase, there's unlimited time to unlock the cosmetics. There are numerous items to unlock: "25 hats, 18 skins, 12 nameplates, 9 visors, and 6 pets."

This cube represents a collection of some of the best indie games ever created. Celeste and Undertale are fantastic games, UGG is pure delight, and teaming up with friends to play through Castle Crashers (now with a remaster!) is as enjoyable as it was during its initial release in 2008.

If you haven't played in a while, now might be the perfect time to return to Among Us. The latest map, the beachy-jungly Fungle, was well-received, and the game still boasts an active player community. Active until they're ejected from the airlock, stabbed in the back, or devoured by hungry mushrooms, that is.

The new patch is already available, and you can check it out on Steam or practically any other gaming platform you have.
