Organizers of The Summit 8 gave an invite to Evil Geniuses

The number of participants was expanded to nine.

The final stage of The Summit 8 will take place in the house of the studio Beyond the Summit in Los-Angeles. A prize pool of the tournament amounts $300,000 and 300 DPC Points.

Previously, the only one team, OG received an invitation to the tournament. The rest of participants had to pass qualifiers. Initially, Virtus.pro also had to receive an invite but due to the misunderstanding that happened between the VP management and organizers, the Russian team left without it's invitation. Despite this, Virtus.pro could pass through the qualifying round in the CIS region.

The rules of the tournament were changed together with an invitation of the ninth team.

Now, 9 teams will be divided in three groups in the group stage and will play Bo1 matches by the Round Robin system.
