Evil Geniuses Benches Head Coach Vorborg After Ten Months

Daniel "Vorborg" Vorborg, the Danish head coach of Evil Geniuses, has revealed that he has been benched by the organization due to a shift in direction. Vorborg, who joined the team in August as part of the Blueprint project, expressed his passion for coaching and his determination to prove himself once again.

During his tenure, Vorborg oversaw various roster changes that failed to yield the desired results. Despite his efforts to rebuild the team during the summer break, their performance remained lackluster, with their only notable achievement being a single victory at the IEM Rio Major 2022 Challengers Stage.

Although Evil Geniuses started the 2023 season with a promising win against Heroic at BLAST Premier Spring Groups, their subsequent performances were disappointing, leading to last-place finishes and their failure to qualify for the Paris Major. The addition of Ismail "refrezh" Ali was an attempt to turn things around but ultimately resulted in the organization's decision to change direction.

While the specifics of the organization's new direction have not been disclosed, reports suggest that the EG Black roster will be promoted to the main squad for BLAST Fall Groups.

The current Evil Geniuses roster includes Timothy "autimatic" Ta, Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte, Jerric "wiz" Jiang, Ismail "refrezh" Ali, and Sanzhar "neaLaN" Iskhakov, with Daniel "Vorborg" Vorborg now being benched.
